Primary School Teacher – International Independent School Job in Terrey Hills, Sydney NSW – SEEK

The German International School Sydney (GISS) is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our team following an internal promotion. The successful candidate will primarily teach English to various year levels, in addition to general classroom responsibilities. GISS is a highly regarded co-educational international school offering a fully bilingual program (German and English) from Preschool to the bilingual IB-Diploma. We are registered by NESA and accredited by the Federal Republic of Germany as a German School Abroad.

Applicants must have relevant tertiary qualifications and current NESA teacher accreditation (or be eligible for accreditation). Additionally, they must possess the right to work in Australia and demonstrate an excellent understanding of teaching English to primary-aged children, both native and second language speakers. Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance educational outcomes is essential. The ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents, as well as a demonstrated embrace of a multilingual and inclusive school culture, is required. Applicants must also possess effective planning and differentiation skills, hold a valid WWCC clearance, and be willing to perform assigned duties which may include teaching, non-teaching, professional development activities, and support for co-curricular activities and special events.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deep learning planning using a structured inquiry-based approach, monitoring and assessing student performance, and providing reports and feedback to parents. Additional duties may involve supervising classes of absent teachers, conducting playground and bus duty, maintaining a positive learning environment, and attending parent-teacher interviews and information evenings as required.

Remuneration for this position will be determined by the candidate’s accreditation status in accordance with the MEA.
