Position: Executive Vice President (Relocation to Kuwait Required)

Job Title: Executive Vice President

Job Purpose:
The Executive Vice President of American International University, Kuwait, serves as the senior academic officer, responsible for overseeing and aligning academics to maintain the educational excellence of the University. They will ensure the quality of faculty, administration, and student body, as well as provide leadership to support a student-centered culture on campus. The EVP will also focus on student retention, achieving institutional goals, and promoting effective teaching and student success through well-organized procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
– Serve as the senior academic officer and oversee the organization and administration of the University.
– Make policy recommendations to the Board that impact the University.
– Recommend personnel changes and policies.
– Meet regularly with department directors and above.
– Attend Board of Trustee meetings and oversee presentations to the Board.
– Collaborate with institutional partner universities to implement programs and services successfully.
– Drive institutional and programmatic accreditation to elevate standards and effectiveness.
– Review and refine academic programs to incorporate the latest technology and industry standards.
– Oversee the Registrar and optimize timetables and faculty resources.
– Prepare reports as required by the Board and government agencies.
– Build an effective leadership team committed to academic excellence and student success.
– Provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
– Foster collaboration across faculty, staff, and students.
– Champion continuous improvement in the university.
– Act as an ambassador for the University to external stakeholders.
– Utilize data for student outcome improvements.
– Encourage collegiality and inspire others.
– Oversee infrastructure improvements, including physical facilities and information technology.
– Weekend and evening duty, and occasional travel required.
– Fulfill any other duties assigned by the CEO.

Experience and Education:
– Advanced degree required (MBA preferred) or Ph.D.
– Minimum of five years of leadership experience at the senior level.
– Experience in strategic planning, educational planning, and facilities management.
– Knowledge of Academic Affairs, Student Life, and University Administration.
– Visionary and effective leadership skills.
– Understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds.
– Experience with institutional and program accreditation.
– Strong organizational and budget management skills.
– Successful track record in team-building and complex leadership environments.
– Experience in staff development and evaluation.
– Strong focus on student success and creating a supportive environment.
– Experience with research and data-driven decision-making.
