Job Summary:
Under supervision, the University Academic Success Coach II assists students in addressing academic, financial, career, and social issues that impact their success at the University.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Facilitate purposeful interactions between students and academic institutions to develop personalized, student-centered educational plans.
– Provide goal-oriented advising to guide students’ educational planning during their first year.
– Assist students in exploring career options and accessing relevant University resources.
– Support students in understanding academic studies, curriculum requirements, and the connection between majors and careers.
– Develop individualized class schedules based on students’ needs and academic background.
– Help students establish goals for academic progress and success.
– Take primary responsibility for early intervention, implementation, and follow-up of assigned students.
– Assist students in addressing problems and connecting them with appropriate support services on campus.
– Explain the implications of academic probation and suspension, course dropping, and satisfactory academic progress policies and procedures.
– Provide general information on financial aid, scholarship requirements, and other methods of financing education.
Minimum Requirements:
– Education: Bachelor’s degree.
– Experience: Two years of related experience.
– Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
– Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with others.
– Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– No licensing/professional certification required.
– No physical requirements.
Supervision of Others:
This position typically does not involve supervising employees.
Other Requirements:
– May require occasional evening and weekend work.
– On-campus, face-to-face interactions are necessary.
– Regular schedule of attendance on campus and at work required.
Salary: $19.06 per hour
