Position: Vice President for Academic Affairs (Position Requires Relocation to Kuwait)

The Vice President for Academic Affairs will be a senior member of the Division of Academic Affairs team. This role includes providing direction and oversight for initiatives that enhance student success, retention, and timely graduation. The VPAA will be responsible for supervising all activities, programs, and services related to academic advising and support, including remedial and skill-building programs and testing. Additionally, the VPAA will be the conduct officer for all cases involving academic policy violations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Serve as the conduct officer for cases involving alleged violations of academic policies, including the Student Code of Conduct and the Academic Honesty Policy.
– Provide leadership in planning, developing, and evaluating the university’s academic development programs.
– Collaborate with university departments to enhance academic readiness for all students. Implement academic intervention programs in coordination with Student Affairs to identify and support at-risk students.
– Develop and manage program budgets, including forecasting funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies. Monitor division expenditures.
– Provide training and development initiatives for staff to ensure their effective contributions to student success.
– Maintain accurate and organized records, and develop/maintain reports for retention purposes.
– Coordinate, implement, and evaluate transition programs for new, transfer, and graduate students. Develop and maintain policy and procedure manuals for unit programs and services.
– Assist in identifying, implementing, and evaluating technology programs that improve departmental operations.
– Stay informed about developments in higher education fields relevant to assigned functions.

Experience and Education:

– Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (PhD strongly preferred).
– Minimum 5 years of significant work experience in Academic Affairs profession.
– Three to five years of experience in supervising professional-level staff.
– Experience in program development and assessment.
– Experience in designing academic systems and programs that support student learning, persistence, and retention.
