Founded in 1964, The American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) has facilitated educational and cultural exchange programs for over 1.6 million students. AIFS Study Abroad is seeking a Student Services Advisor for its London Global Education Centre. This team-oriented role supports the Deputy London Director in planning and executing AIFS Abroad programmes, including study abroad, faculty-led initiatives, and internships.

**Responsibilities:**

– Collaborate with the on-site team to provide support, cultural programming, counselling, and housing for visiting U.S. students.
– Offer pastoral care to AIFS participants as needed.
– Assist in the organization and supervision of student accommodations.
– Provide emergency support with a dedicated duty mobile phone.
– Aid the Deputy London Director in organizing AIFS programmes – managing bookings, housing, and other programme elements.
– Facilitate social and cultural activities.
– Flexible scheduling is required for evening and weekend work related to cultural events.
– Prepare welcome materials, covering programme specifics such as housing and travel logistics.
– Coordinate flight information and logistics for arrival days, including transfers and staffing.
– Greet and assist students upon airport arrival and their transition to accommodations.
– Attend academic field trips with students and faculty.
– Plan and lead information sessions as part of the orientation programme.
– Develop initiatives with the Deputy London Director, which may include student wellbeing, residence life, event coordination, sustainability, and career readiness.
– Perform additional duties as assigned.

**Performance Goals:**

– Meet at least a 90% “excellent” and “good” rating on student evaluations.

**Required Skills:**

– Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Numeracy skills and record-keeping ability.
– Creative problem-solving and initiative.
– Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly approach suitable for customer service with U.S. faculty and students.
– Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
– Commitment to quality, adaptability, and prioritization skills.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

**Preferred Experience:**

– Experience living, working, or studying abroad.
– Background in Higher Education or study abroad programmes.

**Salary and Benefits:**

– £28,000 salary for a minimum 35-hour workweek (Monday to Friday), with additional hours as programme demands.
– 20 days paid holiday per year, plus bank and public holidays. Weekend work may be required.
