Caulfield Grammar School

ABOUT US

Caulfield Grammar School is a renowned independent, co-educational institution that is recognized globally for its commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities. We cater to students from Early Learning through to Year 12, with a total of over 3400 students across our five campuses. Our primary goal is to deliver innovative specialist educational programs that cultivate a lifelong mindset, equipping our learners with the necessary mental, emotional, and academic capabilities for their chosen paths.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE

At Caulfield Grammar School, we firmly believe that students of all ages should be exposed to a diverse range of domestic and international experiences that challenge their own limits and assumptions about others and the world. We understand that firsthand experiences are crucial in developing a comprehensive understanding of one’s own and others’ potential. These experiences not only broaden horizons, but also foster empathy, leadership, and independence. Our boarding house plays a vital role in providing such opportunities.

Every year, our Secondary students have the chance to participate in various rural and remote experiences, allowing them to immerse themselves in diverse environments and cultures. These experiences foster cultural awareness, empathy, leadership, and independence. The Student Experience team actively supports the delivery of these programs across the school, with a specific focus on the Boarding House, Yarra Junction, and Kakadu Program.

Yarra Junction Program

Situated in the picturesque Yarra Valley, our Yarra Junction campus serves as a residential and outdoor adventure hub for our junior and middle school students. It offers tailored programs that progressively build upon one another as students progress through the years. These activities are designed to challenge and engage students within the natural environment, promoting adventure-based experiences that push them outside their perceived limits. By doing so, we encourage our students to rewrite their understanding of their own capabilities, learn about the impact they can make, and instill a sense of responsibility for a sustainable future. Additionally, the campus operates as a working Dairy, where students may assist with morning milking.

Kakadu Northern Territory Program

Located in Kakadu National Park, the Kakadu Northern Territory Program has evolved from a partnership initiative with the Mirarr Traditional Owners. It aims to provide Year 9 students with an opportunity to break away from their familiar home and school routines, challenging their preconceived notions about themselves, others, and the world. Through this extended residential program, students experience different approaches to land use, ownership, governance, and restoration. They also explore Kakadu, a dual world heritage-listed site, delving into its history, indigenous cultures, and the experiences of its first people. The program combines elements of Outdoor Education, community and cultural immersion, and service learning.

Boarding House Programs

Caulfield Grammar School has been a premier Boarding School since its establishment in 1881. We currently have about 90 boarders from various regions in Australia and overseas. We take pride in being one of the few schools in Melbourne that offers boarding for both girls and boys. Our Caulfield Campus, located just eight kilometers from Melbourne’s CBD, offers boarders the best of both worlds – an exceptional education and a nurturing family environment in one of the world’s most liveable cities. Within walking distance, our boarders have access to beautiful beaches, parks, cafes, and shops, while the city itself is only 15 minutes away by public transport.
