De Montfort University (DMU) is dedicated to delivering high-quality education and providing an exceptional student experience. As part of the Library and Support Services directorate, the Global Mobility Office focuses on offering international opportunities to DMU students. Since its establishment in 2014, DMU Global has become one of the most innovative and comprehensive international experience programs among UK universities, with over 23,000 students participating.

As the Student Exchange Officer, your role will involve overseeing DMU’s student exchange activity within the Turing Scheme, as well as supporting the development and implementation of other international mobility initiatives at the university. This entails managing all aspects of student exchange, including promotion, engagement, student applications, and ensuring compliance with external funding requirements. Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders is a key component of this role, as is providing expertise and guidance to students to facilitate enriching international experiences.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a degree or equivalent qualifications and experience. They should have prior experience in an international environment, with comprehensive knowledge of student exchange programs, particularly the Turing Scheme, and broader student internationalization activities. Providing guidance, engaging with stakeholders, and understanding university admissions processes are all essential to succeeding in this role.

Moreover, the successful candidate should have experience supporting international students and delivering a high-quality incoming exchange experience. They should possess knowledge and enthusiasm for the value of overseas opportunities and intercultural learning. Experience in managing externally funded projects and utilizing financial systems would be advantageous.
