Are you ready to contribute to the creation of an inclusive world through your work? The University of Southampton, a globally recognized institution, is dedicated to conducting relevant research, fostering a globally minded learning community, and establishing valued partnerships worldwide.

Within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, which encompasses the Winchester School of Art and the School of Humanities, we bring together various disciplines such as art and design, music and film, literature and language, and history, archaeology, and philosophy.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced candidate for the position of Senior Administrator (International) in the Arts and Humanities Faculty International Unit (FIU). As a member of this small and dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in driving the delivery of the Faculty’s international strategy, collaborating closely with our academic community and professional services. This role will primarily be based at the Avenue Campus, with opportunities to work at the Winchester School of Art and Highfield campuses, as well as remotely for approximately 40% of the time. While the position is available on a full-time basis, we are open to considering part-time or job share applications. The role itself is on a fixed-term basis to cover the secondment of the substantive post holder.

As the Senior Administrator (International), your responsibilities will include:

– Providing proactive executive support to the Associate Dean (International), including diary management and committee support.
– Offering effective administrative support to the local international environment and contributing to the creation of a diverse and stimulating community within the Faculty.
– Organizing incoming and outgoing international delegations, handling all aspects such as itineraries, schedules, visas, travel, accommodation, and health and safety compliance.

To be successful in this role, you should have:
– Strong skills in providing high-quality administrative and operational support to senior managers.
– Demonstrable understanding of the value of internationalization in higher education.
– Proficiency in event coordination, including handling international business travel.
– Experience in inclusive and compassionate people management is highly desirable.

At the University of Southampton, we believe that equality, diversity, and inclusion are essential to creating a welcoming, vibrant, and successful organization. By embracing people of all ages, beliefs, racial backgrounds, and social backgrounds, we unlock a wealth of possibilities, foster creativity, and increase our impact on society. We encourage applicants who value the diversity of our community and are willing to contribute to our mission of inclusivity.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role informally, please reach out to Megan Lewis (M.C.Lewis@soton.ac.uk), Senior Operations Manager (International), or Erin Le Marquand (E.M.LeMarquand@soton.ac.uk), Specialist Officer (International), before the application deadline. Interviews will be conducted on Tuesday 28 May through Microsoft Teams, with shortlisted candidates receiving invitations on Tuesday 21 May.
