We are seeking a highly skilled communicator with a solid understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with forced migration backgrounds in the UK to join our Global Office. This is a part-time position as a Sanctuary Coordinator, covering a maternity leave.

As the Sanctuary Coordinator, you will report to the Director of the Global Office and work closely with them to oversee the University’s Sanctuary status. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Schools and Units across the University to ensure a cohesive, supportive, and inclusive experience for students and scholars with forced migration backgrounds. You will provide dedicated support and guidance to this cohort, as well as connect them with relevant internal and external services. Additionally, you will engage with external organizations and partners, sharing best practices and supporting the principles of Sanctuary. Managing funding allocated to supporting Sanctuary initiatives and scholars at risk will also be part of your role.

To be successful in this position, you must be able to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders internally and externally. Furthermore, you must be committed to upholding and enhancing St Andrews’ reputation as a University of Sanctuary.

You will be part of a close-knit and collaborative team in the Global Office and will also contribute to other projects and initiatives aligned with the University Strategy. In order to ensure that projects adhere to policy and regulatory frameworks, you will need to work closely with colleagues and committees across the University.

This is a fixed-term position for seven months, covering maternity leave. The role is part-time, with 14.5 hours per week, and the specific working hours will be determined in consultation with your line manager. Internal candidates who are interested in a secondment will be considered.
