Job Description – Regional Manager

Job description:
The Regional Manager is a vital role that will contribute to the University’s Strategic Plan 2030. The main purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the implementation and delivery of international student recruitment activities. It is essential to ensure that these activities align with Cardiff Met’s overall marketing, recruitment, and conversion plans.

As the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering a comprehensive program of activities. This will involve developing relationships with education providers, partners, agents, and influencers to maximize opportunities for student recruitment. Additionally, you will oversee the delivery of in-country and virtual events, as well as coordinating support for academic colleagues in delivering subject-specific events.

The Regional Manager will have a specific global region(s) under their responsibility and will develop and implement financially viable student recruitment plans and campaigns for each country within the designated region.

Qualifications and Skills:
– Experience and knowledge of international cultures.
– Sensitivity towards cultural issues.
– In-depth working knowledge of at least two key international student recruitment markets.
– The ability to use initiative and make senior-level decisions while in the field.
– The ability to inspire confidence and influence senior individuals.
– The ability to balance income generation with maintaining high standards and quality.
– Proven ability to engage with both UK and international stakeholders at a senior level.
– Proven diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
– Proven ability to develop strategic relationships and partnerships and establish professional networks.
– Effective communication skills in written and spoken English, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
– Proven ability to create and implement strategies, combining strategic thinking with attention to detail.
– Previous experience in a senior-level role within international student recruitment, preferably in higher education.
– Willingness to travel internationally for business purposes as required.
