International School of WA

ISWA, an independent and non-denominational school, caters to both local and international students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, following a northern hemisphere school calendar. The diverse school community comprises students and families from around 60 different nationalities. The primary objective of ISWA is to empower students’ individual growth within an inclusive and inquiry-based learning environment, enabling them to succeed in today’s world.

To support this objective, ISWA is expanding and currently seeks a fully qualified Middle/Upper Years Primary Teacher for a fixed-term contract starting from July 24th, 2024, to June 12th, 2025. The ideal candidate should possess a track record of innovative teaching practices, the ability to motivate diverse classes with students from different cultures and abilities, and a commitment to creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students. They should also demonstrate a strong desire and proven ability to work collaboratively both inside and outside the classroom, build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff, and deliver a concept-based curriculum through inquiry learning.

The candidate should have an intentional focus on balancing academic and social-emotional development and well-being, value diversity and inclusivity, and foster a classroom environment where all students feel included. They should also be curious, open-minded, and willing to adapt their own thinking and teaching methods. Previous experience in international schools and/or delivering the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be highly desirable but not necessary.

The application deadline is May 9th, 2024, although the school reserves the right to close applications earlier if a suitable candidate is found. Applicants must hold a Working with Children (WWC) certificate and TRBWA (Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia) registration. Please note that we are not accepting unsolicited or agency CVs at this time, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
