Dear Future Pedagogista,
We are currently seeking a passionate and inspiring Educational Leader, referred to as “Pedagogista,” to join The Akidamy in Perth. In this role, you will support our teachers and educators in delivering the highest level of early childhood education. The position is initially for a 12-month maternity cover in our Perth School. However, there may be an opportunity for the role to continue in our Fremantle School from approximately July 2025, as we are opening a second school there in early 2025.
The Akidamy School of Early Learning prides itself on its strong culture and connections with our community. Our boutique school environment has made us one of the leading early childhood education establishments in Perth. Our curriculum is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach and aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Additionally, we draw inspiration from the RIE and Pikler principles for our younger children. Our school also incorporates art, music, mindfulness, and an Italian language program into our everyday curriculum. We have a strong support system in place, including Occupational Therapists and a Sign Language teacher, who enhance teaching and improve child development outcomes.
As an Educational Leader – Pedagogista, we are looking for someone with the following qualities and experience:
– Demonstrated experience or a keen interest in the Reggio Emilia approach
– Minimum qualification of a Diploma or an Early Years Education Degree, coupled with a deep understanding of the EYLF, National Quality Standard (NQS), and Kindergarten guidelines
– Extensive knowledge and experience mentoring educators in various early childhood theories, best practices, EYLF, Quality Improvement Plans (QIP), and NQS to achieve the best educational outcomes for both children and faculty
– Ability to create innovative and engaging self-guided curriculums that incorporate indoor and outdoor environments, sustainability, nature play, and local excursions
– Skills in documenting and showcasing children’s learning and development to a high standard
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop online and face-to-face training modules, as well as drafting policies and procedures on educational content
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and education curriculum platforms, with a willingness to learn further in these areas
Our purpose-built school is beautiful and well-resourced. It features a designated Atelier, and our School Chef will provide daily lunches.
