Job Summary:
The International Recruitment Advisor is responsible for advising and recruiting prospective international undergraduate and graduate students to Cal State LA. This includes creating and implementing student recruitment plans, communicating with prospective students, representing the university at recruitment events, and collaborating with key university offices. The advisor will also work with international student recruiting agencies and support newly admitted students.

Salary Range: $4,610 – $6,556/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Appointment Type: Temporary one-year appointment, may be extended or become permanent
Classification: Exempt

Essential Functions:
– Advise and recruit prospective international undergraduate and graduate students
– Create and implement international student recruitment and outreach plans
– Communicate regularly with prospective students, providing information about Cal State LA and admission requirements
– Represent the university at higher education recruitment events domestically and internationally
– Collaborate with university offices regarding international applications and admissions data
– Collaborate with the College of Professional and Global Education regarding marketing materials and recruitment support
– Serve as the primary liaison and advisor for international student recruiting agencies and independent agents
– Train, advise, and support agents in promoting Cal State LA and achieving recruitment targets
– Assist with new student pre-arrival information and international student events and activities

Required Qualifications & Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or related field
– Two years of professional experience in student services or a related field
– Experience tracking student outreach efforts and linking ROI to outreach plans
– Knowledge of university admissions and experience as a DSO
– Knowledge of SEVIS and visa policies and procedures
– Effective written and oral communication skills
– Outstanding customer/student service skills
– Interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment

Desired Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field
– Experience with international student recruitment and CRM systems
– Knowledge of best practices related to international student recruitment and outreach
– Knowledge of Cal State LA and CSU university admissions policies and procedures
– Knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft
