University of Nottingham

We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR team and provide support with the administration and processing of visas for international employees. This role will be a combination of remote work and office work at our Kings Meadow Campus.

As part of the Resourcing team, you will work closely with them to process Skilled Worker and Tier 5 visa applications. You will also provide advice on appropriate sponsored visa routes, with guidance from the HR Resourcing Services Manager. Previous experience and knowledge of immigration are not required as we will provide full training, but it would be beneficial to have a basic understanding of UK immigration law, particularly right to work requirements.

Your main responsibilities will involve handling all visa applications, including issuing Certificates of Sponsorship using the Sponsor Management System. You will also verify right to work documentation and ensure that prospective and current employees have all the necessary employment information and documentation for successful visa applications. You will communicate regularly with prospective employees, colleagues, and recruiting managers to provide full administrative support for staff visa applications. Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders and providing quality customer service will also be crucial.

As the main point of contact for immigration queries, it is important to be accurate and adaptable in learning new skills and procedures. We encourage a proactive approach to continually improving our customer service for both internal and external customers. While this is a team-based role, you will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve queries and maintain a high level of customer service within deadlines.

This is a permanent contract role with full-time hours. Our university values diversity and welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds. Please note that this position does not meet the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Skilled Worker, so we can only accept applications from candidates who already have the right to work in the UK.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Emma Haydon at EMMA.HAYDON@NOTTINGHAM.AC.UK. Please do not send applications directly to this email address.

Please be aware that interviews will take place during the week commencing June 17th. For more information on the support we offer our international colleagues, please visit our Moving to Nottingham pages
