Foundation for International Education

FIE: Foundation for International Education is a global educational organization that collaborates with universities and colleges in the US to deliver immersive study abroad programs in London, Dublin, and Amman. Currently, FIE is looking for qualified and passionate individuals to fill a full-time permanent position within the Academic and Experiential Education Department.

Position: Internship Placement Coordinator
Location: London, England (on-site)
Start Date: July 1st, 2024

Job Summary:
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in international education or student career counseling. As the Internship Placement Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing the placement of international undergraduate students in unpaid in-person and remote internship experiences for academic credit. This position requires excellent communication skills to liaise with students and London employers, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and identifying new opportunities.

Qualifications/Experience:

– Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
– Preferred personal experience studying and/or working abroad
– Understanding of the international education sector, preferably with knowledge of the US Higher Education system
– Experience working with international students is a plus

Key Skills and Qualifications:

– Strong organizational and administrative skills with great attention to detail
– Excellent communication abilities to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
– Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy office environment
– Resilience to handle difficult and stressful situations
– Confident and outgoing personality with a positive attitude
– Proficient in written and spoken English, with professional telephone skills
– Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and databases

Desired Skills and Experience:

– Previous personal experience studying and/or working abroad
– Understanding of the international education sector, preferably with knowledge of the US Higher Education system
– Experience in working with internships, work experience placements, or career services
– Experience advising or counseling students
– Strong presentation skills in front of large groups
– Knowledge of London and its industries
