University of Leeds

This role can be based on the main campus, with the option to work in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements as well. Are you passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)? Do you have experience in leading activities and achieving impact within a complex organization? Can you inspire and motivate others to work towards collective goals?
The University of Leeds is a world-class institution, ranked in the top 75 universities globally. We have a diverse community, with over 39,000 students from 170 different countries and a staff of over 9,000 with 100 different nationalities. With a history dating back to 1904, we have a strong reputation for academic excellence, providing quality education to our students and conducting world-leading research that has a significant global impact.
We are currently offering an exciting new position in the Faculty of Social Sciences, where you will work closely with the Faculty leadership team to implement the EDI agenda outlined in the Faculty Vision and Strategy 2023-2030: Changing the world, for the good of all, aligning with the University’s wider EDI Strategy.
In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues in the Faculty to plan, prioritize, and execute a wide range of EDI initiatives. You will have overall responsibility for the operational direction and implementation of EDI work, providing guidance and support to colleagues in integrating EDI throughout the Faculty.
Working in partnership with colleagues across the Faculty, you will work towards mainstreaming and integrating equality and inclusion. This will involve collaborating with senior management, staff and student networks, staff and student unions, Faculty EDI Leads and Committees, as well as other working groups and key stakeholders, to identify needs and develop guidance documents, policies, and actions that promote greater inclusion for all staff and students. You will also provide advice on how best to share best practices and actively seek opportunities to address under-representation and disparities in experiences and outcomes.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you possess a strong professional commitment to advancing EDI, with previous experience in the field. You should also have a proven track record of teamwork that delivers results. Your communication and influencing skills will be crucial in building strong relationships across the Faculty and University.
In return, we offer 26 days of holiday plus approximately 16 Bank Holidays/days when the University is closed by custom (including Christmas), totaling 42 days off per year! Additionally, we offer health and wellbeing benefits, including discounted staff membership options at our state-of-the-art campus gym, access to personal development courses, on-site childcare, shopping discounts, and travel schemes.
