About the Role
The Director for International Student Programs and Support will spearhead vital university-wide initiatives that ensure compliance with federal regulations concerning nonimmigrant students and scholars. As a pivotal member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to lead various programs and support systems, playing a crucial role in the success of our international students.
Responsibilities
Administration (50%)
- Lead and supervise departmental operations, setting and achieving both short-term and long-term goals.
- Oversee budget management, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic investment.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations pertaining to nonimmigrant students, including managing records and reporting processes.
Operations (30%)
- Direct initiatives such as workshops, orientation programs, and student support services.
- Collaborate across university departments to foster a supportive environment for nonimmigrant students.
- Develop and implement departmental communications and public relations strategies.
Supervision and Support (20%)
- Recruit and mentor staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional student support.
- Conduct analyses and present reports to university leaders.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about trends in international education.
Qualifications
Essential
- A bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience with nonimmigrant student support.
- Eligibility to become a Designated School Official (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
- Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and initiative.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in Student Affairs or related field.
- Experience using higher education software such as Banner, Terra Dotta, or Maxient.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $76,000 – $89,199.12 annually (Dependent on education and experience).
