Job Description:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Baseball Coaching Assistant assists with all aspects of coaching an intercollegiate team, including recruiting, scouting, game management, and promotions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Assists the head coach and/or assistant coach in coaching duties, providing instruction, demonstration, and teaching the sport’s dynamics to student-athletes for individual and team development.
– Recruits and scouts potential student-athletes from high school, junior colleges, and community colleges.
– Makes recommendations to the head coach regarding the potential of student-athletes.
– Performs administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach.
– Coordinates and arranges team travel, including competitive schedules, practice sessions, and maintaining player databases and opponent files.
– Develops and distributes scouting reports on opponents and assists in acquiring uniforms and equipment.
– Assists with summer camps.
– Maintains knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.
– Establishes and enforces rules and regulations concerning student-athlete conduct, appearance, punctuality, and other areas.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level or higher, or playing experience.

Knowledge and Abilities:
– Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
– Knowledge of NCAA rules.

Ability to:
– Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
– Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.

Licensing / Professional Certification: None
Physical Requirements: None

Supervision of Others:
This position generally does not supervise employees.

Other Requirements:
– Must possess a valid driver’s license for occasional transportation of student-athletes.
– Position requires working evenings, weekends, and travel.
– Applicants are subject to NCAA enforcement staff compliance review, and employment is contingent upon satisfactory results.

Salary: $14.43/hourly
