The Institute for Future Cities is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive their growth strategy. In collaboration with the senior management team, you will advance the research goals of the institute and expand its global partnerships. Your primary responsibility will be to identify funding opportunities that support the institute’s strategic research and internationalization objectives. Working closely with directors, academics, and professional teams from the faculty and the university, you will develop and deliver successful funding proposals as part of a highly successful small team.

Cities worldwide play a crucial role in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including combating climate change and reducing poverty. Your work will focus on this exciting field, bringing together academics, policy makers, and the commercial sector to tackle crucial urban challenges and enhance the quality of life for citizens globally. This role offers opportunities to build professional networks, develop skills, and gain global experience.

To succeed in this role, you must possess proven expertise in funding proposal development, preferably in the higher education sector. Confidence, strong communication skills, and interpersonal abilities are crucial, as you will be the key point of contact with potential funders, clients, and partners. Experience in building partnerships and networks, as well as working in relevant areas such as sustainability, resilience, health, urban planning, and international development, will be advantageous. Project management experience is desirable. You will be joining a highly motivated and focused team that has a commendable track record in helping the university and its partners achieve objectives that lead to positive global change.

The initial contract for this post is 36 months, with the possibility of extensions subject to funding.
