The Assistant Director for Data Services & Compliance in the office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is responsible for providing advanced technical support for the development and maintenance of the ISSS immigration case management system. This includes ensuring university compliance with U.S. Federal Immigration Regulations and SEVIS Reporting. The Assistant Director serves as the main technical support and liaison with the IT team, database administrators, and other relevant parties. They are also responsible for troubleshooting technical issues and consulting with ISSS staff to develop electronic forms in the database. Additionally, the Assistant Director is responsible for data analysis and reporting using the system.

Requirements for this position include a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience or a combination of related education and experience. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident as required by federal regulations. They should have advanced knowledge of database management, reporting tools, SQL queries, and XML. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail and organization, are necessary. Experience in training others on federal rules and regulations is also important. The candidate must be able to meet deadlines and work well in a team setting and have sensitivity to other cultures.
