Job Description:
As an Academic and Admin Support Officer (AASO), you will report to the Registrar and work closely with the Dean and Course Coordinators. Your main responsibility will be to provide support to enrolled students, ensuring their academic and overall well-being at AHE. You will assist students in enhancing their oral and written communication skills, guide them on proper referencing and academic integrity practices, and help them access relevant information. Additionally, you will handle day-to-day academic administration tasks for both staff and students, ensuring a smooth learning experience.

Responsibilities:
1. Oral and Written Communication:
– Conduct training sessions to improve students’ oral and written communication skills.
– Guide students in using appropriate citation styles and avoiding plagiarism through proper research practices.
– Educate students on GenAI technologies and their ethical use.

2. Academic Support:
– Provide individual and group academic advising to students, helping them create academic plans and monitor their progress.
– Regularly check-in with students to assess their performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide guidance and resources for success.
– Teach students the principles of academic integrity and support them in maintaining ethical practices.

3. Administration:
– Manage day-to-day academic operations and serve as the main point of contact for program administration.
– Support pre-enrollment and enrollment activities.
– Collaborate with Faculty to ensure smooth course delivery and escalate any concerning issues to the Dean.
– Provide academic and non-academic advice and support to students, including resource access, assessment submission, communication with staff, and study management.
– Facilitate the distribution of course-related materials and communicate marks and grades to students.
– Administer examination and assessment processes throughout the academic year.
– Perform any other reasonable tasks directed by the Registrar, senior AHE staff, or CEO.

Qualifications and Experience:
– Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and experience in a similar role within the higher education industry.
– Demonstrated experience in providing student support and academic advising.
– Familiarity with Australian government regulatory requirements for international education.
– Exceptional time management and communication skills.
– Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office and student administration systems.
– Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
– Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
