Preference for TNE among Vietnamese families mapped

– The Vietnam Voices: Consumer Attitudes Towards Transnational Education in Vietnam report by Acumen found that 85% of parents showed an openness for their children to enrol on TNE programs.
– 48% of parents said both study overseas or education at an official in-country branch campus was a preference at the higher education level, while 44% preferred international programs taught fully or partially by Vietnamese colleges or university.
– At the vocational level, 38% selected international training taught in the country over 16% who would rather their children studied local Vietnamese vocational training.
– Outside of six key cities, there is a relatively greater demand for vocational training options.
– Half of all respondents said they would be willing to pay at least US$8,400 per year for an international program taught in Vietnam.
– With more than 200,000 Vietnamese students studying abroad per year prior to 2020, Vietnam has been a top six market for key destination markets such as the US, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
– There are more than 400 approved joint programs in Vietnam.
– Quality of education and job opportunities after graduation were the two most important factors when choosing international programs in Vietnam, according to the survey.
– The US, UK and Australia rank most highly among Vietnamese families for providing TNE programs.
