The David L. Boren College of International Studies at the University of Oklahoma is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Wick Cary Assistant Professor of International Security, starting on August 15, 2025. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates.

### Position Overview:

The Wick Cary Assistant Professor position is open regarding specializations within the International Relations subfield of International Security. However, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in U.S. foreign policy and/or the international security implications of emerging technologies.

#### Teaching Responsibilities:
– Undergraduate courses in International Relations and International Security.
– Courses in our on-campus MA in International Studies (MAIS) program.
– Specific needs include U.S. Foreign Policy at both undergraduate and MA levels, along with Policy Analysis and Writing at the MA level.
– Potential opportunities to teach courses on international security and technology, as well as courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.

#### Research and Service Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain a robust research agenda that leads to high-quality academic publications.
– Actively engage in overseeing and building academic programs in International Relations and International Security.

### About the College:

The Boren College of International Studies offers:
– Nine undergraduate degrees for approximately 300 majors and minors.
– An on-campus MA in International Studies with 25 students.
– An online MA in Global Affairs with nearly 150 students.
– Various research centers and 23 full-time faculty members with expertise in international security, development, and area studies.

### Qualifications:

#### Required:
– Ph.D. in Political Science or International Relations by the time of appointment.
– Proven ability to conduct high-quality research in International Security.
– Demonstrated ability or potential to teach courses in International Relations and/or International Security.

#### Preferred:
– One or more publications in peer-reviewed journals and active research in International Security.
– Expertise in U.S. Foreign Policy and/or the security implications of emerging technologies.
– Experience or potential in securing external research funding.
– Ability to teach courses on U.S. Foreign Policy, Policy Analysis and Writing, and international security and technology.
– Excellence in teaching and a commitment to student success.
