University of Buckingham

The University of Buckingham stands out among other universities with its unique atmosphere. Despite being the smallest university in the UK and the only independent university with a Royal Charter, Buckingham boasts a diverse staff from over 60 countries, creating a truly distinctive work environment. Whether you work at one of our locations, you will feel like a valued member of our friendly community. Our small size allows us to foster a personalized, supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment, with ample opportunities for development, something we take great pride in.

The Corporate and Professional Services departments are vital pillars of the University. Together, they provide essential and valuable support not only to each other but also to the Academic departments, ensuring the efficient and productive functioning of the University while delivering an unparalleled student experience.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our Central Admissions team as a Visa and Admissions Apprentice. This role is crucial to the Admissions journey and requires a proactive and detail-oriented approach with strong computer skills. The postholder will be responsible for supporting the Admission Manager and faculty-based admissions teams with day-to-day administration. By joining a small team of professionals, the successful applicant will contribute to delivering integral services to the University.

Furthermore, the postholder will have the opportunity to develop a portfolio of skills and apply them towards obtaining a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration. They will have six hours per week dedicated to developing their portfolio as they work towards their qualification.

We have a lot to offer, despite our small size. In addition to an Aviva Pension scheme, we provide:

– Beautiful working environments across our Buckingham and Crewe campuses, offering plenty of space.
– Employee Assistance Programme.
– On-site gym and exercise classes.
– On-site catering facilities.
– University bookshop with staff discount (Buckingham).
– Free access to LinkedIn Learning courses.
– Free on-site parking.
– Discounted courses for staff and their families.
