American International University (AIU) in Kuwait City is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs. Position Overview:
The Vice President for Academic Affairs will play a crucial leadership role within the Division of Academic Affairs, overseeing initiatives aimed at enhancing student success, retention, and timely graduation. This role includes supervising academic support services, managing program budgets, and maintaining academic policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the conduct officer for academic policy violations.
- Lead and evaluate the University’s academic development programs.
- Collaborate with Student Affairs to support at-risk students through academic intervention programs.
- Administer and forecast budgets, ensuring resource optimization.
- Provide staff training focused on student success.
- Coordinate academic transition programs for new, transfer, and graduate students.
- Stay informed of higher education developments relevant to the role.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; a PhD is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Academic Affairs.
- Experience in supervising professional staff and program development.
- Expertise in designing systems supporting student learning and retention.
