#### Role Overview

**Background**

The Research Strategy & Services Division (RSSD) is integral to our Birmingham 2030 ambitions, supporting all researchers, including those involved in international projects. The Trusted Research Manager (TRM) role focuses on regulatory compliance and funder terms to support these initiatives.

**Role Summary**
Reporting to the Assistant Director RSSD, the TRM will develop a regulatory compliance framework, support training and development in Trusted Research, and ensure consistent control over research regulatory matters. This role provides an opportunity to shape our Trusted Research strategy and manage risks related to international collaborations.

Responsibilities include developing an internal framework for Trusted Research, handling Export Control queries, drafting export license applications, and providing advice on Trusted Research. The role also offers career development opportunities and the chance to join a diverse, innovative, and collaborative team.

**Person Specification**

– Degree level education or equivalent qualifications plus relevant practical experience.
– Expertise in managing complex issues and ensuring compliance.
– Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, and management skills.
– Knowledge of geopolitical issues affecting UK and international research funding.
– Proven judgment and problem-solving skills.
