About the Role:

This role is part of the Education stream of Experience Gold Coast, previously known as Study Gold Coast. The main objectives of this team are to promote and grow the education sector, increase student numbers, enhance the student experience, and advocate for the sector. The Trade Program Manager plays a crucial role in strategically planning and executing projects, events, and initiatives that contribute to the successful implementation of Experience Gold Coast’s student attraction strategy. This position collaborates closely with the Head of Education Trade and Partnerships to foster education partnerships, facilitate international trade, and deliver international (trade) programs. The Trade Program Manager is responsible for managing trade initiatives such as education offshore trade missions, inbound delegations, and international stakeholder relationships. The role requires strong project administration skills, the ability to manage multiple international education projects simultaneously, and a focus on delivering tangible outcomes that enhance the Gold Coast’s reputation as a preferred destination for international students. The successful candidate will work within a small but passionate team and must be willing to engage in a diverse array of activities ranging from minor tasks to strategic initiatives.

Key Tasks of the position:

– Conduct meticulous trade program planning, including research, identifying key opportunities, and developing strategic approaches for optimal outcomes.
– Develop and maintain an education-led trade calendar of events, including participation in high-value trade events.
– Ensure strategic alignment and coordination of events within the wider Experience Gold Coast portfolio.
– Take responsibility for organizing trade events, including hosting international guests, managing contractors, arranging accommodation, meetings, catering, RSVPs, Guest Lists, etc.
– Create and deliver impactful presentations tailored to international and domestic audiences.
– Coordinate and collaborate with the Marketing team to secure collateral required for onshore and offshore events and distribute marketing content and communications via various channels.
– Build effective stakeholder relationships with key government stakeholders and international education peak bodies and associations.
– Engage with Experience Gold Coast member institutions to understand their individual international trade goals and guide the international education strategy.
– Provide international trade mentoring and guidance to member institutions and facilitate business engagement.
– Collect and analyze international student data to inform and guide the international trade strategy.
– Ensure effective project management and reporting through data analysis and assist with formal reporting in line with Experience Gold Coast’s strategic plan.
– Provide general support, including Gold Coast Study Hub assistance, marketing activities, and other Experience Gold Coast events and initiatives.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

– Proficient in high-level administration, coordinating multiple projects effectively.
– Exceptional intercultural and government relations skills for successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
– Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, consistently meeting deadlines.
– Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement and client management.
– Understanding of the International Education business, education and training systems in Australia, and the regulatory and compliance environment.
– Experience with IT platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, Smartsheets, and Screendoor.
– Proficient in event management, ensuring seamless execution of multiple projects.
– Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable:

– Experience coordinating offshore and/or international events.
– Experience managing India or Latin America markets.
– Genuine passion for the Gold Coast and its international student community.
– Knowledge of the Education & Training industry.
– Qualification in International Relations or related field.
– First Aid certification.

Additional Factors:

– Current Australian driver’s license required.
– The role may require evening, weekend, and/or public holiday work.
