The Global Initiatives department at Miami University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Director for Global Health & Safety. This individual will be responsible for various tasks related to risk management and administrative processes. Additionally, they will be part of a team promoting diversity and inclusivity within the university community.
Key responsibilities of the Assistant/Associate Director include coordinating emergency communication and travel alerts, developing and assessing crisis response protocols, preparing and supporting faculty leaders abroad, ensuring documentation for safe study abroad programs, tracking and analyzing incident data for international travel, administering global travel insurance, and managing administrative tasks related to risk management forms and requirements.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience for the Assistant Director role, or a Master’s degree and five years of experience for the Associate Director role. Other requirements include the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport, strong knowledge in international risk analysis and crisis management, experience with emergency response, problem-solving skills, familiarity with FERPA, Title IX, and Clery Act regulations, and evidence of inclusive leadership. Candidates with a background in international risk analysis and management, promoting safety and security overseas, responding to complex international events, and Forum on Education Abroad certification will receive special consideration.
