**Position Title:** Study and Work Away Advisor (International Programmes) – Part-time
**Schedule:** 14 hours per week (Two flexible 7-hour days)
**Duration:** Fixed-term for ten months
**Role Overview:**
We are seeking a talented Study and Work Away Advisor to join the University of Edinburgh on a part-time basis. This role focuses on enhancing our students’ experiences with international study and work placements through the Study and Work Away Service (SWAY). This department manages international opportunities for both students and staff, collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– **International Study Exchange Management:** Deliver international study exchange activities, with a focus on monitoring and progressing bilateral exchange agreement renewals, ensuring compliance through collaboration with University colleagues.
– **Student Lifecycle Support:** Assist in creating a holistic student experience by guiding students to opportunities, liaising with Departments and Schools for activity approvals, managing records and grants, and providing support throughout their placement journey.
– **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build and maintain effective relationships with an expanding network of stakeholders.
**Ideal Candidate Profile:**
– **Experience:** Demonstrated experience in study and work abroad programs, internationalisation, or partnership development within Higher Education. Familiarity with contracts or collaboration agreements is advantageous.
– **Adaptability:** Able to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.
– **Attention to Detail:** Possesses a good eye for detail and can work proactively and independently.
– **Teamwork and Communication:** Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to provide exceptional service under pressure.
– **Proficiency:** Adept at using independent judgement to resolve unforeseen challenges.
This position is based within the Study and Work Away Service of the Edinburgh Global Directorate.
