POSITION OVERVIEW
Department: Student Life, Resourcing and Operations
Location: London, campus-based
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (38 hours per week)

The Student Life Manager (Mobility) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of London student mobility programs, specifically first-year international programs such as the London Scholars and Global Scholars provided by Northeastern University. This role requires collaboration with various departments across the University and staff at Northeastern’s global network.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a working knowledge of international students and study abroad programs. They should also have a broad understanding of the different elements that contribute to a mobility student’s experience in London. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are necessary, along with attention to detail. The post holder will need to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Act as a key contact for London student mobility programs, working closely with Northeastern GEO office and London departments.
2. Ensure compliance with program requirements, including service level agreement and program procedures and administration.
3. Plan and coordinate London student mobility programs, creating detailed project plans.
4. Stay informed about all aspects of London student mobility programs, including operations, resourcing, academics, and student services.
5. Chair and coordinate meetings providing updates on program progress.
6. Provide line management for assigned personnel in the Student Life Team.
7. Lead debrief sessions and take forward action plans based on student feedback.
8. Organize and manage welcome week/s, events, and activities, including budget management.
9. Collaborate with the wider Student Life team to integrate mobility students into the London campus community.
10. Represent the University at partner-hosted events related to London student mobility programs.
11. Oversight of co-curricular and extracurricular activities and mobility events.
12. Approve and coordinate regular communications to students, such as newsletters and social media posts.
13. Provide guidance and support to students and colleagues regarding available resources and policies.
14. Support short summer programs and ensure proper resourcing.
15. Foster a positive work environment and prioritize student experience.
16. Undertake other duties as required.

– Strong administrative and IT skills.
– Ability to engage with academic and professional communities.
– Good knowledge of the student experience in London.
