Overview of the Role

Birkbeck, University of London, is on the lookout for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Student Immigration Compliance & Advice Officer. This is a full-time, permanent position anticipated to start in Spring 2025. In this critical role, you will be a fundamental part of the International Student Administration team within Registry Services, ensuring compliance with student visa regulations and supporting the university’s mission to expand its international student community.

Working at the heart of international student affairs, your responsibilities will involve administrative tasks such as maintaining the university’s Student Visa sponsor licence, offering basic immigration advice, and facilitating effective communication across departments such as academic areas, Finance, and External Relations. You’ll frequently interact with international applicants and students through email and phone, making strong communication skills essential.

The role demands a proactive approach and requires you to manage identity document checks, data analysis, and report generation with precision. While you will have the support of a collaborative team, autonomy in managing your tasks is crucial. This position is ideal for those with backgrounds as Admissions Officers or Assistant Compliance Officers with a passion for international education.
