Job Overview: Student Immigration Compliance & Advice Officer

Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Student Immigration Compliance & Advice Officer for Spring 2025. This role is a vital part of the International Student Administration team within Registry Services, focusing on enhancing the university’s international student recruitment. You will work closely with various departments to ensure that the university complies with Government policies while supporting international students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support administrative tasks related to maintaining the University’s Student Visa sponsor licence.
  • Provide basic immigration advice and assist colleagues with international student-related queries.
  • Interact daily with international students and applicants through email and phone for identity documentation checks, data verification, and record updates.
  • Collaborate across academic departments, finance, external relations, and registry services to integrate new compliance policies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong IT and organizational skills.
  • Capable of handling a high workload and prioritizing tasks.
  • Independent and proactive problem solver with a keen interest in international education.
  • Previous experience in roles such as Admissions Officers or Assistant Compliance Officer is advantageous.
