As our Student Experience Officer, you will be the main point of contact for our students and responsible for cultivating an inclusive, supportive, and vibrant environment. You will constantly seek innovative ways to improve the student experience and create opportunities for student engagement. Your exceptional communication skills will help foster positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.

About the role: As the Student Experience Officer, you will work collaboratively with a team to deliver services that support students’ academic experience and overall well-being. The role involves providing high-quality administrative and support services, as well as designing various events, orientations, and programs to enhance student engagement. You will collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and administrative staff to ensure successful implementation of programs that support student engagement and success. This full-time role requires on-site work.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, expertise in event management, proficient administration skills, and a warm and engaging demeanor. They will prioritize customer service and have a desire to assist students and other stakeholders, all while embodying the vision and values of the College and university.

Key skills and experience should include:

– Previous experience in an administrative and student engagement role in the higher education sector.
– Event management experience, preferably in the education sector, or an understanding of event management in the higher education context.
– Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures pertaining to international students.
– Understanding of the challenges faced by students pursuing alternative pathways to tertiary education, including the complexities of the international student experience.

Qualifications:

– A diploma or higher (or equivalent experience of at least three years) in administration, events management, education, student welfare, business, or international relations.
– Current or ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
– Australian working rights.
