Established in 1962, UCEAP has facilitated global learning opportunities for over 100,000 students across all ten UC campuses and welcomed over 40,000 international exchange students, making it the primary study abroad program for the University of California system. **Job Summary**

The University of California offers learning opportunities to Reciprocity students from over 100 institutions located in about 30 countries. Through specific partnership agreements, students are nominated by their home universities to spend up to one academic year at one of the UC campuses, while remaining enrolled at their home institutions. Overseeing these experiences, the Reciprocity Student Services Manager ensures these students have access to academic resources necessary for progressing in their home degree programs, coordinating applications and ensuring fair campus distribution while respecting each student’s academic requirements.

**Required Qualifications**

– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
– At least three years in international education programs.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey information clearly.
– Interpersonal skills, multicultural understanding, and experience working with diverse populations.
– Ability to collaborate and coordinate within a diverse and complex organization.
– Proficiency in technology, complex database management, and Microsoft Office, including MS Teams and SharePoint.
– Capability to adapt procedures to a more automated environment.
– Advanced problem-solving skills to develop original ideas, apply and interpret policy.
– Proven ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and adjust priorities as needed.

**Preferred Qualifications**

– Familiarity with university policies including those of the UC system.
– Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
– A Master’s Degree.

**Special Conditions of Employment**

The UCEAP Systemwide Office is in Goleta, CA, near UCSB. The job offers a hybrid work arrangement, with on-site attendance required for meetings, trainings, and other events. The University cannot cover travel expenses related to commuting due to policy restrictions. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. UCSB maintains a tobacco-free environment.

**Job Responsibilities and Time Allocation**

– **Credential Evaluation and Advising (50%)**: Assess international academic credentials, monitor student progress, and make decisions on admissions while ensuring fair distribution across campuses. Keep abreast of and apply program goals and policies.

– **Liaison (45%)**: Collaborate with both UC and international representatives to resolve academic issues, ensure smooth communication, and address any welfare concerns, interpreting policies and procedures as necessary.

– **Other Duties and Special Projects (5%)**: Represent UCEAP in various meetings and conferences, plus any additional tasks as assigned
