About Gowrie Victoria:

For 85 years, Gowrie Victoria has been synonymous with excellence in early learning. As a not-for-profit organization, we are proud to launch the careers of countless early childhood educators. Our small Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID 3900) is celebrated for offering practical, hands-on learning experiences, supported by high-quality placements and traineeships that enable our students to flourish as educators from day one.

Position Overview:

As a Student Engagement Officer, you will be the initial point of contact for students starting their journey with us. Your role is pivotal in guiding them through the enrolment process, assessing their suitability for our programs, and setting them up for success through exceptional relationship-building and customer service skills. Your initiative and drive will ensure we meet our enrolment targets, leveraging your experience in the education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to enquiries from potential students internationally, log their details in the CRM, make preliminary assessments on their suitability for traineeships, and provide clear and concise guidance.
  • Facilitate the comprehensive enrolment and admissions process for Gowrie students, considering international qualifications and educational backgrounds.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with prospective students, understanding their unique motivations and challenges, and offering personalized guidance to smooth their transition.
  • Develop partnerships with services that host international placement students and employ trainees, fostering relationships that are adaptable to international environments and problem-solving when challenges arise.
  • Match international trainees to appropriate Gowrie early learning services, mentor them through interview processes, and provide timely updates to all parties involved.
  • Ensure the seamless operation of admissions, maintaining accurate records and compliance with all RTO and international education policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the VET or higher education sector, especially in admissions and student engagement roles, is highly desirable.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Skills First Funding requirements, SBAT programs, and/or Traineeships, particularly in international contexts, is beneficial.
  • The ability to guide prospective students from diverse educational backgrounds with empathy, curiosity, and an appreciation of their unique motivations and needs.
  • Experience or familiarity with the early childhood education and care sector can be an advantage, though it is not essential.
  • Proven ability to use initiative and drive to meet targets in environments such as sales or recruitment, ideally with an understanding of cross-cultural dynamics.

Our Culture:

At Gowrie, we take pride in our culture. We invite you to ask questions, reflect, and bring your authentic self to the table, embracing and enriching our global perspective.
