Part-Time Student Engagement Officer (0.4 FTE, 14.8 hours)
Location: Birmingham Campus
The Institute of Inner-City Learning is seeking to appoint a Part-Time Student Engagement Officer at its Birmingham Campus.
**THE ROLE**
As a part of the Student Engagement team, Student Engagement Officers will provide an effective, timely, and supportive service to both Home and International students, ensuring compliance with University regulations and other relevant bodies like UKVI and the Students Loan Company. The role requires availability on Monday and one other day.
Key Responsibilities:
– Serve as the first point of contact for student queries, resolving common issues independently and referring complex cases as needed.
– Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high-quality approach to student support.
– Operate independently, using initiative and self-motivation to meet deadlines.
Main Duties:
– Respond effectively to student concerns and comments.
– Communicate any timetable changes, cancellations, or rescheduled classes to students.
– Establish and maintain efficient student service processes for timely support.
– Plan, manage, and organize re-enrollment for continuing students.
– Implement and monitor the attendance system in compliance with University and UKVI requirements, regularly updating attendance data.
– Maintain accurate attendance records and provide regular reports, identifying students with low attendance.
– Ensure that all student data, including finance-related information, is accurate and up-to-date.
**REQUIREMENTS**
The ideal candidate should have:
– A good level of general education.
– Evidence of delivering high-quality customer service.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective at all levels.
– Attention to detail.
– Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage workload.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new IT packages.
– Teamwork skills and the ability to partner with others.
– High self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
