About the role:
The primary objective of the Student Engagement Coordinator is to ensure that Arc fulfills its mission of offering the best student experience, comprehensive orientation programs, and diverse volunteering opportunities to UNSW students. This involves providing students with a wide range of non-academic opportunities and organizing events and activities for incoming students. The Student Engagement Coordinator is also responsible for helping international students settle into UNSW and overseeing Arc Volunteering’s orientation programs and initiatives.

Key tasks and accountabilities
- Mentor and support student staff members
- Supervise Program Coordinators in volunteer management, program management, and event management
- Assist Program Coordinators in achieving their development goals
- Support other student staff members in their duties
- Handle administrative tasks for Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit Program Coordinators
- Manage programs’ budgets and reporting
- Report on volunteer participation and organize recognition
- Plan and execute Arc Volunteer Training
- Handle administrative tasks for Volunteer Programs
- Recruit volunteers and engage with Non-Profit Organizations
- Drive innovation, improvement, and growth of Arc Clubs and Volunteering engagement opportunities and digital strategy
- Recruit, train, and prepare volunteers for international student experiences
- Organize various events and programs
- Maintain department’s web pages, social media, and promote programs to students
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, UNSW, and other Arc Departments
Selection criteria
Essential
- Experience in project planning and management
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse individuals
- Ability to mentor and coach young adults in project and people management
- Passion and enthusiasm for student life, non-academic programs, and services
- Experience in digital engagement, web management, and social media
- Strong work ethic and professionalism
Desirable
- Understanding and experience in cultural diversity and promotion
- Experience with international communities and programs
- Experience in leadership training and mentoring
- Experience in coordinating and supporting volunteers
