Job Title: Student and Recent Graduate Engagement Manager

Overview of the Role:

The Student and Recent Graduate Engagement Manager will take on a pivotal role in nurturing and enhancing the relationship between the University and its students and recent graduates, both at the Edgbaston and Dubai campuses. This role involves creating a strategic programme to engage students from the moment they arrive at the University until five years post-graduation. A key milestone during this period is the University’s 125th Anniversary in 2025, which presents a unique opportunity to further student recruitment, graduate employability, and philanthropy. The manager will also focus on connecting students with alumni and donors through initiatives like the Birmingham in Action campaign.

Salary and Contract Details:

  • Salary: £36,130 to £45,413, with potential growth to £48,149
  • Contract: Fixed Term until June 2026

Key Duties:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate activities that engage and inspire current students and recent graduates in alignment with the Birmingham in Action campaign.
  • Influence strategic university priorities, such as student recruitment and graduate employability, through engaging events and alumni involvement.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as the Guild of Students and Careers Network.
  • Manage and support the growth of the Student Engagement programme alongside the Student and Recent Graduate Engagement Officer.
  • Lead initiatives related to the Graduate Outcomes Survey and enhance career support for recent graduates.
  • Foster connections between alumni, donors, and student groups, and work towards building a sustainable network of volunteers and donors.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, alongside practical managerial experience.
  • Proven experience in developing engagement programmes, particularly within student or graduate contexts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to analyze data and produce clear written content.
