UCL

**About Us**

UCL Global Engagement (GE) is dedicated to applying UCL’s expertise globally by partnering with faculties to create meaningful impacts for the greater good through international collaborations. Our team consists of highly skilled professionals who excel in global research and education support for academics. We specialize in developing and managing international partnerships, alongside offering insights in geopolitical analysis, global communications, strategic planning, and operations. We operate under the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement) – RIGE – which integrates various functions and resources to support the UCL community and external collaborators. Our mission at RIGE is to empower people, transcend boundaries, and facilitate responsible impact, both locally and on a larger scale.

**About the Role**

Strategic Global Initiatives Managers (SGIM) play a crucial role in managing an array of ongoing programs and projects that advance UCL Faculties’ global engagement and enhance international collaboration within the university. These programs and projects vary in nature, scale, and reach, often involving multiple regions and functions, with participants from diverse UCL Faculties and Professional Services departments. SGIMs are responsible for crafting proposals, orchestrating consultations, designing workflows, assembling business cases, organizing working groups, advising Faculties on cross-regional opportunities, and ensuring effective implementation of program outcomes. In addition to cross-regional projects, SGIMs closely collaborate with Senior Global Engagement Managers within GE to bolster major Faculty initiatives, complex projects, and support regional activities as needed.

SGIMs must possess an in-depth knowledge of international higher education and an ability to comprehend and guide the strategic needs of UCL and its Faculties. This proactive role seeks continuous enhancement of the global engagement support offered to the UCL community. SGIMs build strong relationships within UCL and with key external partners.

The position requires hybrid working—40% office-based with Wednesdays as a fixed team day. Interviews will take place in person on our Bloomsbury campus on November 11th.

**About You**

You must be an exceptional communicator, skilled at influencing colleagues at all levels, and capable of translating complex, unfamiliar scenarios into clear insights that lead to impactful project outcomes. Your work style should be proactive and innovative, thriving in an independent setting where you can propel multiple projects forward. This opportunity allows you to expand your global expertise, diversifying beyond regional focuses or cyclical projects, and engaging with a broad spectrum of new initiatives. If you are eager to widen your experience in a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.
