The roles involve significant political analysis, where the successful candidates will develop close working relationships with policymakers and researchers to provide high-quality specialist analysis and advice. They will help the government make informed decisions through papers and presentations and act as a bridge between FCDO and experts from universities and think tanks. Successful candidates will possess a relevant Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree and have experience working in or on China. They should have good knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and demonstrate excellent research and analysis skills with the ability to master large amounts of information quickly. Sound judgment and strategic thinking should be accompanied by clear communication skills both orally and in writing.
