Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), a dynamic and forward-thinking university, is looking for an experienced International Student Recruiter to expand its global reach and recruit high-quality international students for all levels of study. As an international recruiter, your role will be pivotal in driving the University’s global strategic goals. You will focus on building partnerships, managing relationships with overseas agents, and identifying opportunities to attract students from key areas such as the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the MENA region.

This exciting position involves direct engagement with international markets and potential students, working closely with a Regional Manager, and representing BNU both in-person (through overseas travel) and online. If you love networking, enjoy working in a fast-paced international environment, and are energized by creating impactful opportunities for students globally, this role is for you.

Advice for Applicants from an International Education Perspective:

When applying for this role, it is essential to demonstrate not only your professional expertise but also a clear understanding of international recruitment trends and an appreciation for the nuances of cross-cultural communication. Here are some tips to enhance your application:

  1. Showcase Your Market Knowledge:

Highlight any direct experience or insights you have into the regions specified (Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, or MENA). Be sure to communicate your familiarity with the education systems, cultural practices, and challenges in recruiting students from these markets. Successful recruiters understand the unique needs of students within their assigned territory, and demonstrating market-specific expertise will set you apart from other candidates.

  1. Demonstrate Relationship-Building Skills:

Given the importance of agent relationships and partnerships, show evidence of your ability to forge strong, long-term professional relationships. Examples could include managing partnerships with education agents, schools, or institutions overseas, or even experience with cross-cultural collaborations.

  1. Highlight Adaptability and Cultural Awareness:

International recruitment requires cultural sensitivity and adaptability, as you will be working within diverse environments and connecting with students and partners from varied backgrounds. Provide examples in your application or interview of how you’ve successfully navigated such challenges in your previous roles.

  1. Share Your Marketing and Analytical Abilities:

Recruitment in international education is highly competitive. Emphasize your experience in market analysis, working with data to inform decisions, and crafting successful student engagement strategies. If you’ve contributed to creative solutions or achieved measurable results (such as application growth in a region), be sure to share these achievements.

  1. Prepare for Travel and Virtual Engagement:

This role involves both overseas travel and online outreach. Include examples of how you’ve succeeded in both in-person and virtual (digital marketing, webinars, live streams, etc.) recruitment efforts. Your ability to represent a university professionally, regardless of the medium, is essential.

  1. Tailor Your Application to BNU’s DRIVE Values:

BNU places a strong emphasis on its values: Dynamic, Responsible, Inclusive, Visionary, and Empowering. Tailor your application to reflect these attributes and show how you align with their focus on inclusivity, responsibility, and creating transformative student experiences. Use examples from your work experience to demonstrate how you embody these principles.

What Makes This Role Attractive?

  • You’ll work for a modern and forward-thinking institution that places emphasis on innovation and community impact.
  • BNU offers excellent benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, hybrid working options, staff discounts, and personalized opportunities for training and development.
  • With a clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, BNU values individuals from diverse backgrounds-especially those from underrepresented communities-and fosters an environment where all employees can thrive.

How to Apply:
