Job Description:
The Department of Chemistry seeks a full-time Senior Programmes Officer who will assist in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Programmes. The role is suited for a seasoned administrator with a background in university education, seeking growth in their career.
The Senior Programme Officer’s main responsibility is providing support to students and academics, working with the programmes team to ensure high-quality administration and student assistance from enrolment to graduation. The role requires overseeing the Programme Officer’s day-to-day activities and ensuring the precise execution of multiple courses. Complex queries and issues must also be resolved, assessment planning must be done, timetabling must be managed, student handbooks must be produced, and student support and engagement must be supervised throughout the teaching and assessment period.
In collaboration with colleagues, you’ll organize and manage a diverse range of tasks, growing your knowledge of regulations and contributing to professional networks that advocate for best practices.
Currently, this is a hybrid role comprising work on and off-campus. On-campus days will be allocated through a timetable, but requirements may be subject to change during busy periods. The majority of the work will take place at Kings Franklin Wilkins Building in Waterloo, with occasional visits to Chemistry’s sister location in Borough, near the Guy’s Campus.

Contract Type:
This position is offered as a fixed-term contract until August 2024.
This job may be offered on a secondment basis for internal applicants.
This is a full-time post equivalent to 100% working hours.
