BBSRC – Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council is looking to hire a Senior Portfolio Manager for their International team. This role involves working across BBSRC, UKRI, and external stakeholders to foster collaborations in biological sciences and technology to enhance the UK’s global reputation and influence.
Responsibilities:
– Lead collaborative projects to develop BBSRC’s international partnerships, with a focus on Oceania and Asia Pacific.
– Manage partnerships and ensure BBSRC’s representation in international programs.
– Provide evidence and analysis for international activities to develop strategy and identify future challenges.
– Organize meetings, workshops, and other events related to international activities.
– Support participation and delivery of international programs.
– Manage BBSRC’s International Partnering Awards and associated activities.
– Ensure strategic objectives are reflected in future international programs.
– Represent BBSRC in cross-UKRI activities and engage with external organizations.
– Foster effective collaboration across UKRI and the external community.
Person Specification (Essential):
– Degree or equivalent in a biological or related subject, or previous relevant experience and genuine interest in BBSRC’s aims and objectives.
– Ability to work with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
– Strong leadership and motivation skills to plan and prioritize work.
– Highly collaborative and able to contribute to team activities.
– Excellent liaison, networking, diplomacy, and negotiation skills.
– Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to present complex information concisely.
– Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad.
