Position Overview: Senior Operations and Programme Manager at CGPS, Pandemic Science Institute, University of Oxford

The Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance (CGPS) within Oxford’s Pandemic Science Institute is globally renowned for advancing cutting-edge solutions in combating infectious diseases. As we continue to integrate genomics and innovative technologies into global health, we are seeking a Senior Operations and Programme Manager to help drive the success of a scientifically-focused multi-project program aimed at tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and improving genomic surveillance worldwide.

In this role, you will oversee the operational management of several large-scale global health initiatives, including the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Genomic Surveillance of AMR and projects with impactful collaborations in Nigeria, India, Colombia, and The Philippines. You’ll also be central to our partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Genomic Surveillance of AMR. Key responsibilities include leading complex programme strategies, fostering partnerships with public health bodies at both national and international levels, chairing committees and working groups, and growing CGPS’s global network to advance its mission in infectious disease control.

This opportunity is not merely a managerial position—it is a chance to contribute to transformative global health science, influencing policies and practices on a worldwide scale. It is ideal for professionals wanting to make substantial international contributions and engage in high-level leadership within genomic surveillance and infectious disease.
