As part of its commitment to providing support to international students, Deakin has an International Student Support (ISS) team that acts as an escalation point for complex issues, including health and wellbeing support and academic progress. The team ensures compliance with the ESOS Act 2000, The National Code of Practice, the Migration Act, and other relevant State and National laws and standards.

Deakin is currently looking for a Senior International Student Support Officer who will focus on providing intervention for international students and contribute towards enhancing the international student experience. The successful candidate will work towards building relationships with diverse stakeholders, provide advice on underlying issues and provide practical solutions based on stakeholder needs.

The candidate should have a Degree with relevant experience, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the expectations placed on the education provider under the ESOS Act 2018 for international students, and be aware of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Australia Awards funded projects. Infrequent work outside business hours may be required, and the candidate should hold a Working with Children Check.
