As a key member of the Academy’s close-knit international policy team, the Senior International Policy Officer will work with the Senior International Policy Manager to develop and deliver a new emerging research leaders bilateral policy project. This innovative project will convene emerging research leaders of the UK and another high-income country to develop key policy actions for both partner Academies and other national bodies on a global health priority.

The Senior Officer will develop a mechanism for the emerging leaders to continue to connect with cohorts in the partner country so facilitating collaborations and sharing of expertise and knowledge. Specific activities will include some virtual and in-person workshops between the emerging leaders and the production of a report aimed at decision makers. Topics might include climate change and health, pandemics or global health inequalities.

The Senior Officer will work across different teams within the Academy, particularly our careers team that has responsibility for our cohorts of emerging research leaders and the Communications team. This will require quickly developing a good understanding of the Academy’s work both within and outside the policy team.
