Role Description:
The senior member of the International Research and Innovation Team will take charge of research and partnership development, as well as providing pre-award support for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry’s international research funding portfolio. The postholder will strategically engage with international funders and partners to optimize proposal and income opportunities. Responsibilities include evaluating research ideas based on funding requirements, facilitating large-scale proposal preparation, overseeing accurate costing and contracting, ensuring compliance with international funding requirements, and promoting best practices within the team.

Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of biomedical science or healthtech. They should have extensive experience in partnership development and income generation within higher education institutions, as well as a proven track record in supporting large-scale multi-disciplinary research applications involving overseas research partners. Proficiency in research contract preparation and negotiation, as well as the ability to handle partner due diligence and research intellectual property, is crucial.

About the Department:
The International Research and Innovation team is responsible for managing research and partnership development, as well as pre- and post-award support for EU and international research collaborations across all three Faculties. Its objectives are to strategically engage with international partners and funders externally, deliver competitive and high-quality proposals and projects internally, and ensure compliance with UK, EU, and international regulations and funder requirements.

Position Details:
The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London and is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 6, ranging from £52,549 to £58,595 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
