British Library

This is an exciting full-time position with a permanent contract, requiring 36 hours per week. The role is based at St Pancras in London.

You will be joining an established Research Development Team that oversees the British Library’s role as an Independent Research Organisation (IRO). The team manages a wide range of projects, fellowships, and a collaborative doctoral program. As a member of this dynamic team, you will contribute to all aspects of the library’s research strategy, including governance and administration.

Your responsibilities will include providing professional advice and support for research collaboration, partnership development, bid preparation, and research management across various disciplines. You will also play a role in staff skills development and the sharing of best practices. By building and managing relationships with higher education institutions, funders, and other organizations, both nationally and internationally, you will help increase the opportunities and impact of British Library research.

In addition to supporting and being supported by colleagues on the Research Development Team, you will also contribute to communication, strategic planning, and engagement activities aimed at library staff, higher education institutions, funders, research organizations, and other stakeholders. These activities will align with the library’s collaborative research priorities.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is passionate about research and knowledge exchange and enjoys working with colleagues from various backgrounds. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Experience in research management or research funding, including bid preparation and submission processes, is required.
