The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) is seeking a dedicated Research and Grants Coordinator to join its dynamic Research and Grants Team. This role is integral to supporting the department’s research initiatives, especially in the preparation and submission of funding bids. The coordinator will work under the guidance of the Research and Grants Manager and in close collaboration with the Post-Award Officer, making it an excellent training opportunity for those interested in furthering their career in research administration.

The position involves circulating funding opportunities, maintaining an organized record on the department’s intranet, and assisting with both pre- and post-award processes for a variety of grants. The role is diverse, with responsibilities including communication, administrative support, and budget management, all of which require meeting strict deadlines.

From an international education perspective, applicants should focus on emphasizing transferable skills in their application, especially those relevant to research and grant administration, such as strong organizational and communication skills. While experience in research support is beneficial, candidates with a background in administration and a proven ability to handle financial data, even in different domains, can highlight these competencies to strengthen their application.

Applicants should possess GCSE qualifications (grades A-C) in English and Maths or demonstrate equivalent skills through work experience. Moreover, candidates should exhibit strong numeracy skills and the ability to manage budgets, while showcasing exceptional tact and diplomacy.

ODID values diversity and inclusion and encourages applicants from all backgrounds. The department’s commitment to equality is reflected in its Athena Swan bronze award, which recognizes efforts to foster an inclusive and equitable work environment. As a part of your application, it is crucial to express your alignment with these values and how your unique perspective can contribute to the department’s mission.

To apply, submit your application online, including a CV and a supporting statement that outlines your qualifications and enthusiasm for the role. Ensure your application is submitted by 12 midday on Friday, 14 February 2025, to be considered for this full-time, fixed-term position.

ODID welcomes individuals who are eager to contribute to global development debates and who are enthusiastic about working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Consider how your international experiences and perspectives can bring value to the team and highlight this in your application
