Job Overview: Reader in Public Policy & Deputy Director Role

The International School for Government (ISfG) is actively searching for an accomplished and dynamic individual to join as a Reader in Public Policy and serve as Deputy Director. ISfG aims to empower policymakers and civil servants globally, equipping them with the skills needed to tackle future challenges and fulfill contemporary citizen expectations through a blend of education, research, and public engagement. The school is expanding its educational offerings, including a new Master’s Degree Programme in Health and Social Care Policy and a UK Civil Service Fast Stream programme. The Deputy Director will be integral to refining and executing ISfG’s visionary strategy, enhancing educational programs, and fostering a robust research culture.

About the Role:

In this senior position, you will collaborate closely with Professor Michael Sanders, ISfG’s Director, to implement the school’s strategic initiatives. You will lead novel projects, support program development, and act as a mentor to staff, contributing significantly to ISfG’s educational and research missions. The position demands expertise in both the UK and international policy sectors, proficiency in professional development for public servants, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong academic record in fields such as public policy, administration, economics, political science, or sociology.
  • Experience in leading and innovating educational content.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
  • Insight into government operations or collaborations is a plus.
